The AAJA Photojournalists Affinity Group is responsible for educating, motivating and inspiring our members to become better visual storytellers by providing additional programming at the convention and throughout the year. Following in the footsteps of our predecessors Stan Honda and Paul Sakuma, we are committed to serving and representing our photojournalist members and AAJA family by providing guidance and a safe space to share ideas as we build and nurture the next generation of visual storytellers.
ABOUT THE RECIPIENT: The dedication of Darrell Miho and Alex Wong to AAJA and the Photo Affinity Group shines through in their regular newsletters. The chapter leaders always start with a warm greeting and outline a meticulously planned program for visual journalists, along with a carefully curated list of the best restaurants and food spots to enjoy during the convention. For many young AAJA journalists, PAG's events are the highlight of the convention, and they always walk away feeling supported, inspired, and better. Darrell and Alex have been instrumental in connecting the new generation with seasoned professionals. They work tirelessly behind the scenes, never seeking the spotlight, but always serving as the glue that holds the community together.
