Juju Chang is an Emmy Award-winning co-anchor of ABC News’ “Nightline,” reporting regularly for “Good Morning America” and “20/20.” With decades of experience, she has covered major breaking news, including the COVID-19 pandemic, mass shootings, and global climate issues. She has interviewed notable figures like Joe Biden, Oprah Winfrey, and high-profile celebrities. Her extensive feature reporting covers topics such as mental illness, opioid addictions, and parenting dilemmas. Chang's work has garnered multiple awards, including Emmys, Gracies, DuPont, Murrow, and Peabody Awards. Born in Seoul and raised in Northern California, she graduated with honors from Stanford University. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a founding board member of the Korean American Community Foundation.
ABOUT THE RECIPIENT: Juju Chang is an award-winning broadcast journalist whose extraordinary reporting helped produce two memorable, ABC News prime-time specials in 2021: She co-anchored “Stop The Hate: The Rise In Violence Against Asian Americans” after a noted rise in anti-AAPI attacks. After the mass shooting at three Asian-themed spas, she reported and co-anchored “Murder In Atlanta,” which won a Front Page award. Chang has been recognized for her in-depth personal narratives set against the backdrop of pressing national and international news: from natural disasters to terrorism and racial equity. Within AAJA, she is a model of professionalism, grace and generosity who has mentored many.
