Excellence in Video Storytelling, Social
ABOUT THE WORK: The “One Thing to Know” series was the first of its kind that The Associated Press did. With its recently formed digital social video team, the news organization wanted to highlight its unique role in counting the vote and declaring the winner of the U.S. presidential race, all while explaining the basics of the elections to its growing online audience.
This series consists of multiple explainer videos leading up to the election, all under 60 seconds. This was done so that the audience would get the gist of different aspects relating to the election in a concise yet accurate and engaging manner. This series was also especially important to the AP since we got to highlight the important and unique role we play in the elections - counting the vote and declaring the winner before any other news organization. Many of our viewers were unaware of this and getting to spotlight that was a crucial part of this project.
