Member of the Year: Tiffany Liou
Tiffany Liou is a Taiwanese American bilingual journalist from the Bay Area, California, and an accomplished storyteller recognized with multiple Emmy, NPPA, Murrow, and Associated Press awards. With more than a decade in journalism, she has worked in newsrooms across California, Louisiana, Iowa, Oklahoma, and Texas. Her reporting includes coverage of major events such as the Uvalde and Allen mass shootings and Hill Country flooding. She has also reported internationally, traveling solo to Haiti to localize a complex global story for U.S. audiences.
Liou is deeply committed to advancing the profession and currently serves as longtime president of AAJA Texas. She is also an organizer for NPPA’s Women in Visual Journalism Conference and a recurring faculty member for NPPA’s Advanced Storytelling Workshop, where she mentors and trains emerging and working journalists.
Above all, she is a wife, mother, and dog mom.
