AAPI Community Impact Award: Kimmy Yam
Kimmy Yam is an award-winning journalist, best known for her work, covering complex issues that impact the Asian American community. In 2016, she helped launch HuffPost’s Asian Voices section, one of two mainstream media verticals dedicated to the Asian American and Pacific Islander community. She most recently spent more than six years at NBC News' Asian America section, where she covered politics, culture and race. She has earned extensive recognition for her reporting on immigration, Asian hate during the height of the COVID pandemic and the Asian American electorate.
